This is a back-up arrangement that can be used to order a repeat prescription, if the normal system using Farndon On-line is not working for some reason. The Farndon On-line service is managed on our behalf by EMIS MEDICAL SYSTEMS plc , so if there is routine maintenance being carried out or some sort of fault, we are unable to fix it at the surgery and have to wait for "EMIS" to get it up and running again. This is just a back-up service, please do not use it at any other time than when Farndon on-line is not functioning. When a repeat is requested from Farndon On-line you are given a list of your regular treatment with details of what can be ordered. When you make an order, an entry in your medical record is automatically created together with details of who made the order and when. The back-up service is just a simple e-mail to one of the reception staff. We have no way of knowing that an order has been made so can not give a gurantee that it will always be collected the same day. To order a repeat prescription please use the e-mail link below. We need your name, address, and date of birth plus a list of what medicines you need. We MUST have all of this identifying information, if it is not complete then we can not issue the prescription. Our apologies for the somewhat crude arrangement, butit is only a back-up if the normal arrangements fail. Normally a repeat prescription is for a one month supply, lf you require a larger amount than normal, around holidays etc please include this information.
Your prescription will be ready after 3pm on the next working day after your e-mail was received at the surgery. Oral contraceptive pills and hormone replacement treatment can be ordered on-line providing that you saw a Doctor or Nurse for the previous prescription. We normally give six months treatment at a time for these treatments, however we do need to see you at least once per year to check that the treatment is still the most suitable for you, and to check blood pressure, cervical smear status etc.
