The surgery building is open from 8:00 am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday.

All of our surgeries are by appointment. Appointments can be booked by calling in at the Surgery or by phone on ( 01829 ) 270206. The surgery and phone lines open at 08:00am, and close at 6:30 pm. We have introduced an on-line appointment booking facility available to all registered patients. We hope that this will make it easier to book, and help reduce the inevitable pile up of people trying to phone when the surgery first opens in the morning.
Callers will be advised of a time to call when the phone lines re-opoen, apart from the rare occasion of a real emergency. In such an situation the answering service can contact the practice via a bypass number, and arrange an emergency ambulance if needed. One of the Doctors is always in the district and contactable.
We make every effort to provide same day appointments when needed. To permit this we book appointments using a system known as "Advanced Access". This type of booking is not without some problems,however it seems to be an improvement on the traditional system.

The introduction of advanced access is a national policy and not something about which we were given a great deal of choice. We hope that you find that it works well for you.
Whilst we always aim to be able to offer same day appointments, at busy times this may not be possible. Urgent cases will always be seen at short notice however overbooked a surgery may be. We do of course depend entirely on our patients not to say that a situation is urgent just to obtain an appointment at a time convenient to them. If an appointment with a particular Doctor is required then this may necessitate a wait, as not all of the Doctors work every day.
One service that we do offer is a "Telephone appointment". On some occasions there is no need to see a Doctor face to face to discuss your problem, and a phone consultation is all that is needed.
If you feel that a phone appointment would be helpful, contact the surgery for an appointment in the usual way, but tell the receptionist that you would like a telephone appointment. You will be given a time when the Doctor will phone you back.
There are four Doctors in the practice, however only Dr Linda Duffin works full time at the surgery. Please understand that regardless of it's being a phone call, not a face to face chat, the consultation still needs to be during that Doctor's surgery hours, and the Doctor needs to be physically in the surgery, with your records in front of her. Please also try to understand that the receptionist can not give you an appointment with a Doctor who is not there !

SATURDAYS , SUNDAYS & BANK HOLIDAYS
There are no surgeries at weekends or on public holidays. As during the evening there is a service for emergencies. Phone the normal Surgery number 01829 270206 and your call will
be re-directed to the out of hours service.
