You are free to see whichever Doctor that you wish, you are not assigned to a particular Doctor.

We do our best to offer appointments as quickly as possible, most appointments being booked on the day. However we fully appreciate that for some people to get to see a Doctor requires planning, time away from work etc. We try to be as flexible as possible, and will do our best to fit in with your requirements. If you are having problems, please tell the receptionist when you phone to book. It should always be possible to find some suitable time. The booking system may appear complex and difficult, this is not us trying to make people's lives difficult, it is us trying to be fair and available for everyone.

One service that we do offer is a "Telephone appointment". On some occasions there is no need to see a Doctor face to face to discuss your problem, and a phone consultation is all that is needed.

If you feel that a phone appointment would be helpful, contact the surgery for an appointment in the usual way, but tell the receptionist that you would like a telephone appointment. You will be given a time when the Doctor will phone you back.

We are introducing a facility for on-line appointment booking, this should be started by early May. We hope that this will help make it easier to get through to book.

Unfortunately we can not accommodate every person's wish every time. We do get complaints about the appointments, some people complain that there are not enough pre-bookable appointments. Some people complain that too many appointments are pre-booked and that it is hard to get an appointment at short notice. We do try !!

Because of the distances to the local hospitals, over the years we have tried to get as many other therapists into the Health Center as we can. Whilst this has been generally successful it has led to the surgery building becoming very inadequate for the number of sessions we would ideally like to hold. If we are having a busy spell and there are not enough appointments, we can not just put on a couple of extra surgeries to take up the slack. There is not a free consulting room in which to hold any extra surgeries. We have found in the past, that consulting in the car park or waiting room has not proved popular with our patients!! So please bear with us, until such time as the surgery can be extended again, there is a maximum number of appointments per day that it is possible to have.

Welcome to The Farndon Medical Practice. You may have just moved to our village or perhaps you have decided to make a change to the local medical service. Whatever your circumstances we hope that you find our practice helpful and professional at all times.

We are a small practice with one full-time Doctor, Dr. Linda Duffin and three part time Doctors, Dr. Nick Alagna, Dr. Helen Gillies and Dr. Claire Baker. Together with the Nurses and support staff we provide Family Doctor services for Farndon, Holt and the surrounding area. .................Details of the practice area.

A substantial part of our practice is in Wales . This results in the practice being split between Western Cheshire and North Wales Primary Care Trusts.

Occasionally this can result in unexpected problems, such as when the two trusts each assume that the other is responsible for providing something or other. If you do have any problem that result from the split between trusts, please bring it to our attention. Usually the sooner we can argue a point with the offending Trust the better. Once a Trust comes to regard something as "established practice" it is much harder to get them to change.
